Activities that Advance the Recruitment and Retention of a Diverse Faculty and Staff

The following are highlighted programs that advance this strategy:

• Diversifying Higher Education Faculty in Illinois - The University was instrumental in launching a new Diversifying Faculty in Higher Education (DFI) program web site for the Illinois Board of Higher Education; the program was created in order to increase diversity in the pool of faculty candidates for colleges and universities in Illinois
• Identity newsletter - In fall 2009, the first edition of the Identity newsletter was published which highlights the endeavors of faculty and staff in their endeavors in celebrating diversity
